Almax’s client, Bespoke Leisure Solutions, was assessing the market opportunity for the largest European holiday park operator and their venture backer in. Order to set up a joint venture. They wanted to assess the size of the market, identify a potential portfolio of acquisitions targets and build a business plan to built a foothold in the UK market to capitalise on the rise in staycations and the potential impacts on travel from Brexit. They ware also interested in the holiday park as an asset which provides long term stable growth opportunities and strong returns.
Almax supported Our client in building a deliverable business plan that managed risk and delivered value over a five-year outlook. Given BLS’s knowledge in the market, they identified a strong pipeline of opportunities of holiday parks in need of further development or operational turnaround. The business plan laid out a 5 year expansion period in which to build a £50m portfolio with mitigated risk through diversification in the portfolio through a range of accommodations, non stay income streams and robust location strategy.
Almax built a holiday park financial model to support the business case and create a gated approval process to review and discuss potential holiday park opportunities. The model also allowed a portfolio of assets to be forecasted and assess exit valuations, timings and investment structures (including tiered debt facilities).
